The genus Mormolyca (Mlca) contains 6 small species growing in Central America and northern South America.
Mormolyca ringens grows from Mexico down into Central America. It is warm to hot growing and does well in a basket. The plant can flower all spring and summer.
I have had the plant about six months and still haven't made a proper tag or re-potted it. I can see that it has suffered some from my reduced winter watering. Now that the days are getting nicer I am spending more time on greenhouse maintenance so I plan to reevaluate the whole collection over the next two weeks.
The plant had one flower and one bud. The flowers are small but interesting. I am glad I picked this up even though I was not familiar with the genus.
