Sobralia caught on camera

Sobralia xantholuca 'Broa' x leucoxantha alba 'Broa' - Photo by Richard LindbergSobralia (Sob) contains about 100 species that look very much like bamboo. They are terrestrial and grow in tropical areas of Mexico and South America. This is one of the plants which do not like having their roots disturbed.

I have had this plant less than a month, so I am not willing to count this as a successful rebloom. Still, having a Sobralia bloom in the greenhouse is exciting.

That may not be true. I have another Sobralia which I think might have bloomed, but it is so ephemeral that it could well have bloomed when I was looking the other way.
