Epidendrum Snow Queen in bloom

Epidendrum Snow Queen - Photo by Richard Lindberg

Epicattleya Glorious Pink - Photo by Richard LindbergI once took orchid care classes from a person who advocated making up names. She later sold me a plant with the tag Epc Glorious Pink. Since then I have been very suspicious of name tags. I always try to cross check the name with trusted sources like the RHS.

Epidendrum Snow Queen is in bloom in Sonoma. It is your basic Epidendrum flower shape and a leggy reed plant.

You may be thinking that more information about Epidendrum Snow Queen can be found on the internet. For most subjects you would be right, but the phrase "Snow Queen" is used in a very large number of non-orchid web pages.
