Cattleya intermedia orlata 'Sendai' SM/JOGA

The Cattleya intermedia has great root growth and is attached to the mountThe Cattleya intermedia has great root growth and is attached to the mountCattleya intermedia blooms in summer so I have more than 6 months to wait for flowers. But there is more fun to orchid growing than waiting for flowers.

Watching roots grow is one of the fun parts of orchid growing and one of the reason I like mounts. This plant was mounted only 6 weeks ago and it is already firmly attached to the cork bark by 3 new roots.

There actually is a chance that the plant will produce flowers this year since it blooms on a newly matured pseudobulb and I have a pseudobulb on this plant that is still growing.
