Maxillaria tenuifolia update

24 pieces of Maxillaria tenuifolia - photo by Richard Lindberg

Maxillaria tenuifolia - Flower photo by Richard LindbergI really tried to get the biggest possible divisions. Really! All hand work, no cutting except rhizomes I could see. But it was no use. It just didn't work.

Maxillaria tenuifolia - Plant photo by Richard LindbergThe roots were very intertwined and I just could not get nice large divisions out of it. I ended up with 24 pieces, only three of which are in 3 1/2-inch pots.

The best division is now my collection plant. I may try to sell some or use them as bonus plants if people buy multiple plants from me.

Space is not too much of an issue, I'll put them next to the Maxillaria picta divisions. They will need at least 3 month and more likely 6 months to be sure they are growing well.
