Pleurothallis restrepioides

Pleurothallis restrepioides - Flower photo by Richard LindbergPleurothallis restrepioides - Plant photo by Richard LindbergI got this plant sometime because I could give it a good home. The plant was sunburned from a brief time in direct sun. Leaves can burn in a very short time.

Pleurothallis restrepioides grows in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in wet mountain forest above 2500'. Cool to warm growing, fragrant, low light.

My original plan was simply to up-pot it to let it grow more before dividing. When I got it out of the pot and cleaned up I could see that four nice leaves and a new growth were coming from a single section and that could be removed from the older sunburned section. I made the division.

There is a new orchid blog that is off to a good start. It is called Cattleyaphilia and has some nice pictures. Go over and give him some encouragement. There can never be enough orchid pictures.
