Renanthera 'Twin Star'

Renanthera 'Twin Star' - Flower photo by Richard LindbergI have had this Renanthera 'Twin Star' for a long time. I bought it in bloom while I was still an indoor grower. When it finished blooming it just sat there, not blooming, not growing. After awhile I stopped thinking about it.

Renanthera 'Twin Star' - Plant photo by Richard LindbergThe genus Renanthera (Ren) contains about 15 species from Southeast Asia to the Philippines. Renanthera 'Twin Star' is a primary hybrid made up of Renanthera monachica x Renanthera angustifolia.

After I moved into the greenhouse I figured that it would get out of survival mode and start growing. I was wrong. I have tried several different micro-climates and have found one that it likes enough to bloom. I have kept it because I had not taken a flower picture.

Now I have the flower picture and I am ready to let go of this plant. Here's the deal. If you think you can give this a new home where it will be happy, you can have it. The first comment that asks for it gets it. The plant is free, shipping is $6. Make the comment then go to this web page to get my email address and we will figure out the details that way.

  1. You are very bad -- tempting people with free orchids. Hope it finds a good home :)

  2. You are tempting, enabler. if no one else wants it I am interested.

  3. If I don't hear from someone new by 8pm, the plant will go to Stephano. This is a high light plant, and it might need more feeding than I give. Check the links to the parents in the post for clues to culture.

  5. Hi again. Not sure if you received my email. I had an issue with Outlook today, so I had to send it directly from my hotmail account. I am still interested in the orchid. I'll send you another email.
