Brassolaelia Morning Glory x Laeliacattleya Love Knot

Brassolaelia Morning Glory x Laeliacattleya Love Knot - Flower photo by Richard Lindberg

I took a new flower picture. I debated using it because the lip is curled under this year. What made me decide to use it was that it represented the color of the flower better.

The problem with the flower and the fact that only one bud opened is too much light. The Sonoma greenhouse is very bright, a better problem to have than too dark a greenhouse. Still, it requires paying attention to light levels in different locations.

The greenhouse has a large and very awkward shade-cloth cover that usually goes on. I am replacing it with localized panels to allow maximum light in some areas. This takes a couple of years to get adjusted. I have to watch plants closely for signs of light stress.

  1. Richard, what leads you to think too much light is the explanation? Leaf color looks normal.

  2. I do not know if it's just me or if everybody else encountering
issues with your blog. It looks like some of the
text within your posts are running off the
screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and let me know if this
is happening to them too? This could be a issue with my web browser because I've had this happen previously.
