Schombolaelia Paul Storm

Schombolaelia Paul Storm - Flower photo by Richard LindbergSchombolaelia Paul Storm - Flower photo by Richard LindbergThere comes a time in the life of every mount when the plant needs to be removed and re-mounted. This plant is well beyond that point. On the lower right is the original cork and that was attached to a larger one. Dead parts have been removed and now the plant is growing off the top.

I have removed and potted the lead. Now I am going to soak the plant for an hour and take it off as gently as I can, doing as little damage as I can to the roots.

In addition to loosening the roots, the soaking will let me know which of the pseudobulbs has live roots. Those with live roots will go into bark, those without will go into rock.
