Cattleya walkeriana 'Marjorie' HCC/AOS - Plant photo by Richard LindbergI took this Cattleya walkeriana to San Francisco last night for judging where it was awarded an HCC from the AOS. It is not my plant, it belongs to Steve Christoffersen. I think taking a plant and having it awarded is just as much fun as if I owned the plant. Lots of people wanted to see it up close after the award was announced.

Cattleya walkeriana grows in Brazil on trees and moist rocks at elevations up to 6000'. It is fragrant, needs bright light and blooms in the fall. It doesn't like to be disturbed.

  1. Hi Richard, Steve has a great collection. I'm such it still felt great coming home with the ribbon. I have 6 or 7 awarded or award quality walkerianas that I plan to breed with soon. Will have to let you know when I get to the finals stage of flasking. Give you something to grow after your anceps seedlings.
