Paphiopedilum Lola Bird

Paphiopedilum Lola Bird - Flower photo by Richard LindbergI have a few Paph plants that are sitting in a couple of flats under my benches. They are second class citizens getting what water and light they can. I got compots in late 2005 when a grower was going out of business. They have been very slow-growing. This is the first bloom for this plant, although others have bloomed.

Paphiopedilum Lola Bird - Plant photo by Richard LindbergThis version of Paph Lola Bird is Paphiopedilum micranthum 'Kuti-Kutii' x Paphiopedilum emersonii 'The Giant'. It is a remake that turned out very nicely.

One of the goals of the greenhouse reorganization is to move these plants into better light and grow them to salable size. That they are as small as they are is my fault and it I truly wanted to get them out of the greenhouse I would have done this sooner.

I didn't care for the flower picture I had so I was glad for the chance to take a new one. I used the tan background instead of the black cloth I used before. I like the result much better.
