Pholidota chinensis

Pholidota chinensis - Flower photo by Richard LindbergI have had my Pholidota chinensis for 5 years. This plant grows high up in the warmest, brightest and wettest spot in the greenhouse. It has grown well and bloomed well every year. The basket is full and the plant is growing over the edge.

Pholidota chinensis photo by Richard LindbergPholidota chinensis grows in Vietnam, Burma, Hong Kong and southern China. It is warm to hot growing and fragrant. The genus Pholidota contains 30 species growing from India to South China, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Guinea into the Pacific Islands and south to Australia.

I thought about dividing this plant last year but decided to wait. This year I need to do it. One side looks good, but the basket is full of backbulbs. I should be able to get four nice divisions.
