Liparis viridiflora

I am offering a Liparis viridiflora as a free orchid. The rules are the same as always: You pay $6 postage and it comes Priority Mail. If you have not had a free orchid before, add a comment claiming it and them go to this page to get my direct email address so we can work out the details. "First time" restriction ends at 4pm PDT on Sunday the 7th. After that, anybody who wants it can have it. Continental US only please.

Liparis viridiflora - Flower photo by Richard LindbergThis is an interesting species but I am having a problem selling them on eBay. I think this is a combination of things. First, it is a bit unusual and is not being searched for. Second, I have a flower picture that doesn't show the inflorescence well. The spike comes from the top and is very attractive.

Liparis viridiflora grows in India to the Philippines and Fiji. It is warm to hot growing, blooms in the fall and needs moderate light. The genus Liparis (Lip) contains 250 mostly terrestrial species found in wet mountain forests up to 10,000 feet. They are widespread in both temperate and tropical areas.
