The Cattleya Chocolate Drop x Ctna Why Not I got in early October is blooming already. The buds appeared about a month ago and are now open.

This plant is in sphagnum over peanuts in a5-inch clay pot. It are two pseudobulbs and it stands ten inches above the pot.
It is a pretty flower but I am having a hard time getting the color right. It is a much darker red. The flowers should be open for awhile so I will get a chance to try it in differnt lighting.
The flower is just beautiful with the glitter at the edges. It looks like a compact plant. I have Catt. Chocolate Drop on my wish list, it shouldn't be very large too, right?
ReplyDeleteC Chocolate Drop is about 12" tall and has a short rhizome. I would call that compact. Should be easy to find.
