Brassia Rex

Brassia Rex - Flower photo by Richard LindbergBrassia Rex is the cross Brassia verrucosa x Brassia gireoudiana, registered in 1964. Brassia Rex - Plant photo by Richard LindbergThis plant is potted in rock in a 5-inch plastic pot. There are 6 pseudobulbs and stands 11 inches above the pot.

I have had this plant several years and it has grown really well in my greenhouse since I started raising the base temperature. I have three divisions blooming or about to bloom. All of them need to be divided. When I divide them I will pot part of them in bark to sell.

The Brassia flowers are open all at once and are gone in about three weeks. They are fragrant, so that is nice.
