Dendrobium lindleyi

The Dendrobium lindleyi is in bloom, a nice surprise for my return to the Sonoma greenhouse. When I left it was in bud but didn't seem all that close to openning any flowers. Now almost all are open.

Dendrobium lindleyi - Flower photo by Richard LindbergDendrobium lindleyi grows from India to Vietnam. It is warm to hot growing and needs a dry winter rest. As the flowers mature, the color deepens.

I have had the plant seven years now. I have never divided it, just up-potted a couple of times. It has grown but had not flowered well until I got serious about the dry winter rest. It went three months without water this year.
