Cattleya luteola

Cattleya luteola - Flower photo by Richard LindbergCattleya luteola - Plant photo by Richard LindbergCattleya luteola grows in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, in lowland tropical rain forests. It needs a dry winter rest.

This plant is mounted on a 4x5 1/2-inch piece of cork bark and there are ten pseudobulbs. It has grown but not really increased in size. The place in the greenhouse is what I immagine a lowland tropical rain forest to be. I have been making an effort to have the wlole greenhouse dryer in winter.
