Orchids as Cut Flowers

I re-potted the Miltassia and for the long-term health of the plant I removed the flowers. It doesn't need to use energy to maintain them. I don't usually cut orchids, but I didn't want to just toss these flowers either.

I don't really know how long they will last but they look nice on the table.

  1. Beautiful blooms!...my C.M.Fitch just finished blooming and I was sad to see it end! I take in a lot of rescues and have to cut off the blooms all the time (mostly neglected Phals) and i hate it..but like you said I have no choice for the better of the plant...some last in the vase for weeks! The plants burden has been lifted but the beauty isn't wasted!!
